In this context, having healthcare professionals who know how to harness artificial intelligence can directly improve patient care, optimize resources, and increase the accuracy of diagnosis and treatment. In fact, an analysis by researchers from McKinsey and Harvard estimates that broader adoption of AI could reduce healthcare spending in the United States by 5% to 10%, equivalent to $200 billion to $360 billion annually.
To address this challenge, Founderz and La Paz University Hospital, one of Spain’s most research-active hospitals, have joined forces to train healthcare professionals in the use of artificial intelligence, with the goal of improving healthcare system efficiency and supporting them in their day-to-day work.
AI Training for Healthcare Professionals with La Paz University Hospital and Microsoft
This partnership led to the creation of the Online AI in Healthcare Program, also developed in collaboration with Microsoft, whose AI tools and expertise are integrated throughout the learning experience.
The program is taught by experts from Founderz, La Paz University Hospital, and Microsoft, as well as professionals from other healthcare and technology organizations. With their guidance, our students develop practical AI skills they can apply in their day-to-day work through a curriculum covering the following areas:
- The history and fundamentals of AI and its applications in healthcare.
- Advanced use of generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, Midjourney, Copilot, and others.
- Machine learning, deep learning, and other techniques for improving diagnosis and treatment.
- Data processing and AI-assisted clinical report generation.
- AI-assisted hospital management to optimize resources and processes.
- Developing research projects using AI tools.
- Integrating technology with human-centered care, with a focus on patient well-being.
- Responsible AI: ethical and regulatory considerations in artificial intelligence.
