On February 1, we had the opportunity to host the webinar “How Is Artificial Intelligence Transforming the HR World?”, a digital event aimed at HR professionals and organized by RRHH Digital and Founderz.
This event, moderated by Pau Garcia-Milà, co-CEO and co-founder of Founderz, brought together a panel of well-known industry experts to examine the impact and the opportunities that AI presents for the sector.
The webinar featured Tiago Santos, Director of Talent and Careers at StudentFinance; Pepe Martínez Larrosa, Head of HR Advanced Analytics, Talent & Culture at BBVA; Patricia Villanova, Human Capital Director at Raona; and Gianluca Rosania, Global Director of Talent Acquisition, Blockchain, Tech & Product at Bitpanda.

What Role Does AI Play in the HR Sector?
During the session, the speakers offered a broad and varied view of how artificial intelligence is redefining talent management practices, from acquisition to retention and employee development.
The panel explored the many ways AI is influencing routine tasks in Human Resources, pointing to a fundamental shift toward automation and process optimization. As Gianluca Rosania put it, “in the future, companies will depend heavily on how HR departments manage the implementation of AI.”
The speakers shared their experience on how the daily use of AI contributes to analyzing employee wellbeing and satisfaction, highlighting its potential to significantly improve talent retention.
One of the most relevant applications in this area is talent recruitment. If you want to dig deeper into this process, check out our practical guide to using AI in recruitment, where we cover its main applications.
Ethics and Challenges in the New Technological Era
One key topic addressed was the ethical boundaries of AI in Human Resources. The experts discussed the main challenges HR departments face in this new era, focusing on the importance of establishing responsible and ethical practices for using these technologies.
According to Pepe Martínez, the key to implementing this technology is “trust” and promoting “the elimination of unfair and discriminatory bias.”
The conversation underscored the need to balance efficiency and innovation with respect for employee privacy. As Tiago Santos noted, “transparency and communication help teams work better, and they need to know exactly what the consequences are and how their data is being used.”
These issues are especially important in recruiting, where it pays to understand the common mistakes when using AI in hiring processes and to put measures in place to reduce potential bias and protect candidates’ data.
The speakers emphasized that, despite the ethical and implementation challenges, AI opens up clear opportunities to transform the sector, allowing organizations not only to optimize their operations but also to enrich the employee experience and strengthen corporate culture.
For Patricia, implementing AI “is a shift in mindset that reaches the entire organization,” and because of that, “we need to redefine the role of leaders, which is why it’s so important for HR to help them streamline processes so they can be more competitive.”
How to Keep Building AI Skills for HR
The experiences shared during the webinar show how artificial intelligence can help Human Resources departments transform their processes, from managing applications to developing and retaining talent.
To make the most of these opportunities, it’s important for professionals in the field to understand what these technologies can do and know how to apply them in practice, while keeping human oversight in place and respecting people’s privacy.
