How to use the digital marketing prompt generator for your marketing strategy in five steps

To build your marketing prompt, follow these steps. Only the first one is required: anything you skip stays on Auto.

  1. Start with the essentials. Pick an example (campaign brief, SEO without filler, landing page and CRO, data to decision, useful calendar or search ads) or describe your brand: what you sell, to whom, your goal and the data you have. Then choose what you need and, if your context is short, turn on “Have the AI ask me questions before it starts”.
  2. Define your business and goal. The main goal (awareness, leads or bookings, online sales, retention or launch), the business type and the main channel, from SEO to Meta Ads. Under advanced settings you set the media budget.
  3. Choose the audience and format. Who the output is for (marketing team, leadership, agency or freelancer, sales team or agency client) and the format: tables, ready-to-use copy, one page, document, slides or checklist. Brand voice sits under advanced settings.
  4. Set data and quality. The material you will attach and the level of detail. Under advanced settings you get the extra checks (A/B test variants, claims review, UTM tagging, accessibility and measurement plan), the response language and a field for anything else the AI must respect.
  5. Generate and copy your prompt. Click “Generate prompt”, enter your email to see the whole prompt and copy it.

Eleven marketing tasks. The “What do you need?” selector covers campaign brief, SEO brief, content calendar, ads, results report, landing page and CRO, email or newsletter, social media, marketing plan, market research and customer journey.

Each option adds its own method, such as LIFT and ICE for landing pages or the character limits of Google Ads, Meta and LinkedIn for ads, so the model knows what structure the deliverable needs.

Prompt examples: a campaign brief for LinkedIn

With the generator’s “Campaign brief” example (a cybersecurity consultancy launching a free assessment for small manufacturers), the prompt starts like this. It is an excerpt: the button copies the full prompt.

ROLE
Act as a senior digital marketing strategist with experience in SEO, content, paid media, email, CRO and analytics. You work from evidence: you separate data, hypotheses and creative proposals, and you never fill gaps with invented data. You write creative briefs with a single-minded proposition, reasons to believe and clear mandatories.

GOAL
Write a campaign brief that an agency or the creative team can execute without coming back with questions.

CONTEXT
Context provided by the user (treat it as your main source):
"""
We are a cybersecurity consultancy for small manufacturers. In November we launch a free 30-minute assessment. We have two approved case studies and 4,000 contacts in the CRM who gave consent. We want 60 qualified meetings this quarter.
"""

...

OUTPUT FORMAT
Deliver the brief as a two-column table with the rows Background, Business objective, Communication objective, Audience, Insight, Proposition, Reasons to believe, Tone, Mandatories, What not to say, Channels and assets, Timeline, Budget, KPI and measurement.

...

The full prompt adds the lead generation goal, the B2B and LinkedIn context, the constraints on claims and privacy, five working steps and a final check before answering. Compared with generic prompts like “make me a LinkedIn campaign”, the model won’t invent an audience, discounts or results.

The result: the assistant keeps the business objective apart from the communication objective and only uses the two approved case studies as reasons to believe, without inventing testimonials or figures.

Tips for marketing prompts: keyword, LinkedIn and email marketing

6 quick tips

  • Paste the confirmed offer and terms into the brief. Without them, the model fills in prices, discounts or deadlines that don’t exist.
  • Attach your data and say what it is under “Material you will attach” (brand guide, GA4 or Search Console, campaign data). The prompt asks for the source of every data point: it’s the fastest way to avoid invented claims in AI writing.
  • For search content, give the main keyword and ask for search intent, structure, internal links and a meta description, not “rank first on Google”. Google explains what it values in its guidance on creating helpful content.
  • For LinkedIn, ask for one post per idea with a clear CTA, and say whether it’s a carousel, a short text or thought leadership.
  • In email marketing, the prompt already limits sends to people who gave consent; choose “Email or newsletter” and you get three subject line options with their character counts so you can test them.
  • Change one setting at a time (channel, goal or level of detail) so you know what improved the output.

Use case list: content ideas, campaign ideas and product launches

  • Marketing strategy A marketing plan with audience, positioning, channels and SMART objectives for a product launch, with what still needs validating.
  • Content A calendar of post ideas that links pillars, format, funnel stage, CTA and metric.
  • Social media posts Posts with a hook, format and CTA for each platform, plus a comment reply guide.
  • Conversion Landing page copy built on prioritized hypotheses and a measurable test.
  • Ads and email Ad variants within each platform’s limits and consent-based emails with one CTA.
  • Analytics A report that turns metrics into findings, limits and decisions for your marketing efforts.
  • B2B Campaign briefs and messages for sales, with approved claims only.

What makes a detailed prompt: a prompt template that works

A good prompt gives the AI what you’d give a new agency colleague on day one: a role, a specific task, the brand context, the approved material (offer, claims, style guide, data), the constraints and the output format. In marketing, two more pieces matter: personalization by audience and stage, and the legal limits of advertising.

If they’re missing, the model writes generic copy or promises results your brand can’t back up. That is the core of prompt writing for marketing work: tell the tool your business type, your audience and the proof you have, and ask it to use bullet points where a reviewer needs to check facts quickly.

More AI prompts for marketing and how to use these prompts

The Founderz AI prompt library has ready-to-use prompts for other roles and for tools like ChatGPT, and these generators cover related work:

Why I built these generators

Paul Delaney

I’m Paul Delaney, and I lead search and AI visibility at Founderz. I’ve been designing AI prompts since the GPT-2 era and writing them every day since 2021, helping friends, colleagues and clients across many sectors, industries and roles get more out of their work with AI tools.

I built these generators to help people. AI is a wonderful tool: it doesn’t replace people, it helps them deliver more and better work. So this generator is designed to bring real value to everyone who uses it, whatever their prompting level. I built it with AI helping me write the code, which is the best proof of what AI lets you do.

Structured prompting, the technique behind this generator, is only one of many. Founderz’s Certificate Program in AI and Innovation teaches it alongside many others, so graduates come out significantly upskilled and able to build tools like this for their own field.

Frequently asked questions

Is the digital marketing prompt generator free?

Yes, it’s free. Before it asks for anything, it shows you a preview with the first sections of the prompt. To see the whole prompt and copy it, enter your email and accept the Privacy Policy; receiving communications from Founderz is optional.

It only asks once per visit: any prompts you generate after that are shown in full.

Do I have to use ChatGPT?

No. The prompt works in any text assistant, such as Claude, Gemini or Microsoft Copilot. If you will attach GA4, Search Console or campaign data, say so under “Material you will attach” and the prompt tells the assistant how to read it.

Can the prompt promise campaign results?

It shouldn’t, and the prompt prevents it: one of its constraints forbids promising Google rankings, reach, conversions or return. You get hypotheses with the metric that will measure them; you measure the results.

Does it work for AI agents or automated workflows?

The generator writes prompts for chat assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot, not agent plans. You can use the prompt as the base instruction for an agent or a custom GPT, but set permissions and human approval points before automating anything.

Can I create campaigns in Spanish or other languages?

Yes. In “Response language” you can choose US, UK, Canadian or Australian English, Spanish for Spain or Latin America, Portuguese, French and other languages, or a bilingual English and Spanish version.

Certificate Program in AI and Innovation

The tool gives you the prompt; the bigger change comes when your marketing teams learn to use AI at every stage. The Founderz Certificate Program in AI and Innovation is fully online, takes 3 to 4 months and leads to a certification from Founderz and Microsoft, with modules on prompting, images and video, automation, AI agents and responsible AI leadership.
