AI In Class: How Artificial Intelligence Is Transforming Education

When we picture artificial intelligence in the classroom, we tend to imagine futuristic scenarios full of interactive screens, robot assistants, and advanced technology. But AI is already in schools across Spain, and it has been changing how teachers teach and students learn for a while now, with everything that implies for teachers, school leadership teams, and students.

To understand how this shift is happening and how each school is responding, we visited four schools and talked with principals making strategic decisions about their schools’ futures, with teachers learning to bring new tools into their daily work, and, above all, with the real protagonists: the students.

The result is AI In Class, the second season of AI in Action developed together with Microsoft: a four-episode documentary series exploring how schools across Spain are integrating AI with pedagogical intent.

The technology shift has already reached schools

According to the University of Oxford, nearly half of European teenagers already use AI to study, many of them without supervision. Students already use it every day to look up information, resolve doubts, and complete assignments, which makes one question central: how do we teach them to use it responsibly and with critical thinking?

At Founderz, we train thousands of people in artificial intelligence every year, and we know that AI’s arrival in education is inevitable. We also know that, used well, AI can improve academic outcomes, personalize learning for each student, and help teachers spot specific needs before they become bigger problems.

What actually makes the difference in how this technology gets used, though, is the pedagogical intent behind it, the support teachers receive during the transition, and the active involvement of the entire school community.

AI In Class: the start of a new chapter

Before AI In Class, we launched AI in Action, an initiative that took us across Spain to show how artificial intelligence can transform small and medium-sized businesses. The five episodes of its first season showed that AI is a tool available to any business ready to take the leap and put it to work, not just large corporations.

This time, we wanted to go a step further and explore one of the sectors where the arrival of artificial intelligence is generating the most conversation: education. Because if there’s one place where AI’s impact can make a lasting difference, it’s the classrooms where millions of children learn every day.

AI In Class is made up of four episodes exploring four different schools, four different ways of facing the same educational challenge. Each school has its own philosophy, its own team, and its own way of teaching. But they all share something fundamental: the conviction that AI is a tool that’s here to stay and that, when used thoughtfully and with pedagogical purpose, can improve education.

How do we assess learning when students have access to AI tools? How do we teach critical thinking in a world where information is one click away? What training do teachers need to support their students? These questions don’t have easy answers, but every school we visited taught us something valuable about how they’re finding their own solutions.

We invite you to watch the first episode and share it with your teaching staff, with other education professionals, or with families in your school community. If you care about the future of education, work at a school, or simply want to understand how the way children learn is changing, this series is for you.

A conversation that goes beyond the classroom

AI In Class is part of a broader conversation about how to prepare people for a world where AI is already built into work, education, and everyday life. Microsoft Elevate, Microsoft’s global initiative to drive AI’s positive impact on organizations and communities, is the framework Founderz and Microsoft use to tackle this challenge together.

Through initiatives like this one, we support the adoption of this technology, making sure it comes with the judgment, confidence, and skills needed to get the most out of it.
