Recapping Our Webinar: “The Dawn of AI, Beyond the Hype”

On October 26, we hosted our webinar “The Dawn of AI, Beyond the Hype,” a session designed to unpack the myths and explore the practical applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the workplace.

Moderated by our CEO and co-founder, Pau Garcia-Milà, the event featured the following speakers:

  • Amel Fernández, ChatGPT Prompt Designer at QDQ Media, a specialist in ChatGPT and social media marketing.
  • Eduvigis Ortiz, Strategic Alliances Leader at SAS, President and founder of Women4Cyber Spain.
  • Xavier Mitjana, consultant and speaker on practical AI applications.
  • Silvia Leal, science and technology communicator.

Demystifying AI and discovering its practical applications

The session opened with a brief introduction of the speakers by Pau, followed by a discussion covering topics such as the common myths about AI, its practical applications, and the future of this technology.

Amel Fernández pointed out that “we won’t be replaced by ChatGPT, but by a person who knows how to use ChatGPT,” emphasizing the importance of people adapting to these new tools.

Eduvigis Ortiz noted that AI has actually been around for many years, but what has changed is its processing power and the ability to bring these tools into everyday life.

In the segment on practical applications, the experts shared how they use AI in their professional and personal lives, from generating reports to sentiment analysis across different industries.

Along these lines, we also got a look at the benefits of our Online Copilot Course, a program that helps professionals get hands-on with this tool to streamline processes and boost their productivity.

For Pau, this program not only offers practical tools but also opens a window into understanding and making the most of AI in the workplace, preparing participants for a job market that is increasingly built around these technologies.

This part of the event gave attendees a clear picture of how AI can improve efficiency across many processes and how it is starting to become accessible to organizations of every size.

The future of AI across every industry

Turning to the future of AI, the speakers discussed the ethical challenges, the importance of regulation, and how AI could shape the education and training of future generations.

In Silvia Leal’s view, we need “greater transparency in algorithms,” and she highlighted how regulation can help address ethical challenges, such as advertising aimed at minors or the spread of false information.

AI has a defining trait that matters to a lot of people: with it, it’s us, not a robot, who can do so much more.

On the topic of education, the panel also discussed how AI can offer personalized lessons and support educators, and why the Online Master’s in AI and Innovation in collaboration with Microsoft takes professional training a step further at a time when AI is more in demand than ever.

In short, this webinar not only provided a platform to discuss the myths and realities of AI, but also gave professionals a chance to learn how to bring this technology into their own fields, preparing them for a future where AI will play a leading role.
