ChatGPT prompt generator
Describe what you want the AI to do and get a prompt with role, technique, format and checks, ready to paste into ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude or Gemini.
How to use the ChatGPT prompt generator step by step
Only the first field is required: anything you skip stays on Auto.
- The essentials. Write what you want the AI to do and pick the kind of result, from “Summarize and extract actions” to “Presentation outline”. If your context is short, turn on “Questions first”.
- Role and tool. Pick the role the AI should take, the prompting technique and the tool where you will paste it. In advanced settings you say who the result is for.
- The result. Pick the output format and the tone. In advanced settings you set the length and the answer language.
- Sources and checks. Decide how the AI should treat sources and how it reviews its work before answering. In advanced settings you add the material you will provide, the quality criteria and any limit of your own.
- Generate and copy your prompt. Click “Generate prompt”, enter your email to see the whole prompt and copy it.
“Prompting technique” offers nine approaches: stages with a synthesis, few-shot examples, fixed sections, devil’s advocate, decision matrix, scenarios, pre-mortem, actionable SWOT and an expert panel. “AI tool” adapts the format to ChatGPT, ChatGPT with reasoning, Copilot (Microsoft 365), Claude, Gemini or Perplexity.
Example: a structured GPT prompt that summarizes a report for your manager
With the generator’s “Executive summary” example, the prompt starts like this. It’s an excerpt: the button copies the full prompt.
ROLE Act as an expert AI assistant that turns a request into a usable result: you understand the real goal, work from the context provided and never fill gaps with invented data. You summarize texts and meetings with editorial judgment: what was decided, what remains open and who does what. GOAL Summarize the material provided faithfully and usefully, separating decisions, risks and next steps with an owner and date when they are stated. CONTEXT Context provided by the user (treat it as your main source): [START OF BRIEF] I have a 30-page quarterly sales report with results by region, budget variances and a risks section. My manager has five minutes before Thursday's committee. I want them to get what matters: what happened, which decisions are needed and which risks to watch. [END OF BRIEF] ... OUTPUT FORMAT Deliver: a three-sentence summary; a decisions table (Decision, Who, When); risks and open questions; a list of next steps with owner and date. ...
The full prompt adds source material rules, five constraints against invented data, four working steps, an output format with a decisions table and a checklist to run before answering.
The result: the AI delivers a summary that separates decisions, risks and next steps, marks what is missing as [to be confirmed] and avoids filling gaps with invented data.
Tips to get the best results and reuse what works
6 quick tips
- Turn your prompt idea into a clear task with the result you expect: “summarize into one page with decisions and risks” works better than “summarize this”. Spelling out what success looks like does more for quality than any other input.
- Match the technique to the job: few-shot if you want the assistant to match the voice of an example, devil’s advocate or pre-mortem to stress-test a plan, scenarios when there’s uncertainty.
- If you use Copilot, pick “Copilot (Microsoft 365)” in “AI tool”: the prompt asks it to use only files, emails or meetings you can access and to say which one it used.
- Use “Final self-review” so the model checks every requirement, looks for contradictions or cuts filler before it delivers. Then refine one field at a time.
- To save time, keep the prompt that worked as a template and change only the task next time. Reuse beats rewriting, and it’s where the productivity gain comes from.
- Don’t paste personal or confidential data into the task or context: describe the situation with roles and approximate figures.
Use cases for a free AI prompt generator in your workflow
- Summarize A report, a meeting transcript or an email thread into an executive summary or a bullet list.
- Explain A technical concept to non-experts with the role “Patient teacher”.
- Review A document or proposal with the role “Demanding editor” and the devil’s advocate technique.
- Decide A decision matrix or an actionable SWOT to compare options.
- Write An email or a piece for a marketer, in a formal tone or a conversational one, when you need productivity and creativity in the same draft.
- Present The slide structure for a presentation to your team or a client.
What makes a well-written prompt: prompt engineering basics
A good prompt gives ChatGPT what you’d give a new colleague: a role, a specific task, the context, the material it can use, the constraints and the deliverable. Leave one piece out and the large language model fills the gap with guesses, so the answer comes back generic. That’s the core of AI prompt engineering: a clear prompt structure, specific needs spelled out and a level of detail that fits the task.
Creating effective prompts this way beats a single line on various AI models, from OpenAI’s GPT models to Claude. The generator asks for each piece in order, so ChatGPT’s first answer already has what it needs.

Why I built these generators
Frequently asked questions
Is this ChatGPT prompt generator completely free?
Yes, it’s free. Before it asks for anything, it shows you a preview with the first sections of the prompt. To see the whole prompt and copy it, enter your email and accept the Privacy Policy; receiving communications from Founderz is optional.
It only asks once per visit: any prompts you generate after that are shown in full.
Does it work with free ChatGPT?
Yes. The prompt is plain text, so you can paste it into free ChatGPT, a paid plan or the version your company uses. Using ChatGPT with company data is safer in the version your organization has approved.
Which is the best prompt generator for ChatGPT?
It depends on the task. A generic tool will reword one line into a longer one; this one asks for role, technique, audience and quality criteria, and the Founderz library has generators for specific jobs. Try it on a real task and compare the answer.
Does it work with Claude, Gemini or Copilot as well?
Yes. In “AI tool” you pick ChatGPT, ChatGPT with reasoning, Copilot (Microsoft 365), Claude, Gemini or Perplexity, and the prompt adjusts its format to that tool. If you use another assistant, leave it on Auto: the prompt works the same.
Is it useful for beginners?
Yes. Write the task and leave the rest as it comes: the prompt still gets a role, quality criteria and delivery instructions. As you gain practice, try the prompting techniques and the advanced settings.
What happens to the data I type?
The generator doesn’t use a language model: it combines your answers with Founderz templates in your browser. It only sends Founderz your email when you ask to see the prompt, and usage analytics record options such as length, language or technique, never your task or the generated prompt.
AI and Innovation certificate program
