Prompt template generator A free AI prompt generator for reusable ChatGPT prompts and prompt templates
This prompt template generator turns a repetitive team task into an artificial intelligence (AI) prompt template, a custom prompt that anyone can use, review and improve without depending on the person who wrote it. It’s built for team leads, internal trainers and teams who want the same quality from ChatGPT, Claude or any other model. It’s a Founderz tool; Founderz provides AI training for business teams.

Prompt template generator
Tell us which task you want to standardize and get a professional prompt to create templates, AI usage guidelines, training, checklists and prompt libraries. Only step 1 is required: everything else stays on Auto.
How to use the prompt template generator
Only the first step is required: anything you skip stays on Auto and the AI infers it from your context.
- The essentials. Click an example or describe under “Describe the task or what your team needs” what repeats, who does it and what goes wrong. Pick the deliverable under “What do you need?”, and turn on the switch if you want the AI to ask you questions before it starts.
- Your team and process. Set the “Recurring process or task” (customer service, sales, marketing, meetings or human resources, among others) and the “Team and scale”. Advanced settings add “Frequency and impact”, for example a pilot before scaling.
- Tool and audience. Choose the “AI tool” where the template will live and “Who will use the output?”. Advanced settings add “Human review”, “Adoption design” and “Format”.
- Data and quality. Set the “Allowed data”, the “Material you will attach” and the “Level of detail”. Advanced settings add extra controls, the response language and any limit the AI must respect.
- Generate and copy your prompt. Click “Generate prompt”, enter your email to see the whole prompt and copy it.
“What do you need?” offers ten deliverables: reusable template, document a template, AI usage guidelines, internal training, quality checklist, adapt a template, template library, AI onboarding, fix a common misuse, and measure adoption and quality. Each one adds its own steps, an output format with exact columns and three follow-up requests.
Example: a team template for customer support in ChatGPT
With the generator’s “Team template” example, the prompt starts like this. It’s an excerpt: the button copies the full prompt.
ROLE Act as a company AI adoption and prompt design lead, experienced in standardizing recurring tasks, training teams and governing the use of AI tools. You work from evidence: you separate what is confirmed from what is assumed and you never fill gaps with invented data. You design reusable prompt templates with variables, few-shot examples and acceptance criteria, so different people get results of the same standard. GOAL Create a reusable prompt template for the task described, ready to copy, with clear variables and a usage example. CONTEXT Context provided by the user (treat it as your main source): [START OF BRIEF] We are 4 people in customer service at an online store. Each of us answers complaints about late deliveries differently, and sometimes we promise compensation that is not approved. We want a ChatGPT prompt template everyone uses to the same standard. Approved policy: 10% discount only if the delay is longer than 7 days. [END OF BRIEF] ... OUTPUT FORMAT Deliver: the template in a copy-ready code block; a variables table with the columns Variable, What to enter, Fictional example, Required; the filled-in example; and the numbered acceptance criteria. ...
The full prompt adds the process and team size, the data rules, five working steps with a mandatory human review, the output format with the variables table and a final check before answering.
The result: the AI returns a template with bracketed variables, a fictional example and acceptance criteria the whole team can apply to the same standard.
Tips for better prompts and reusable output
6 quick tips
- Start from a task your team repeats at least weekly in its workflow. Something you do twice a year isn’t worth maintaining.
- Ask for a placeholder for whatever changes each time (customer, date, product) and keep fixed what doesn’t: tone, limits and format. Then anyone can use it without having to rewrite it.
- If you have examples of good and poor quality, choose “Good and bad examples” under “Material you will attach”: it’s the fastest way to show the model exactly what you want and get better results.
- Give each version an owner and a review date with the “Version and owner” control. A collection with no owner goes stale in a few months.
- Start with “Minimal version to test” under “Adoption design” and measure quality or time before you roll it out across the organization.
- Use “Allowed data” to state what can be used: public or fictional only, authorized internal data, or anonymize first.
Use cases: prompt tools for AI workflows and AI outputs that need review
- Team library A prioritized set with a usage guide, by process or by role, that works as your prompt library.
- Onboarding AI onboarding for a new person, with prompt examples by role.
- Quality A rubric and checklist to review outputs before anyone uses them.
- Usage guidelines What the team can and can’t do when using AI, with clear limits on how to use the prompt.
- Internal training A session with exercises and material to build prompt engineering skills.
- Adoption A metrics dashboard and improvement plan to see whether your high-quality prompts save time.
Prompt engineering basics: what makes a good template, not just a new prompt
A good template has everything a good prompt has (role, task, context, material, constraints and format) plus three pieces that make it repeatable: placeholders for what changes, an example and a counter-example, and an owner with a version. Without those three, each person adapts it their own way and a month later you have five versions.
With them, your team gets consistent results across AI models like ChatGPT and you can refine it when edge cases show up. Think of the generator as a prompt maker that helps you create reusable prompt templates: a prompt that works for your whole team, not a one-off.

Why I built these generators
Frequently asked questions
Is the prompt template generator free?
Yes, it’s free. Before it asks for anything, it shows you a preview with the first sections of the prompt. To see the whole prompt and copy it, enter your email and accept the Privacy Policy; receiving communications from Founderz is optional.
It only asks once per visit: any prompts you generate after that are shown in full.
Does it work as a ChatGPT prompt generator too?
Yes. Choose ChatGPT under “AI tool” and the prompt adds how to save the template there. The same text works in other assistants, and the field also offers Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Google Gemini, Notion AI or several tools.
Which is the best AI tool to store team templates?
Wherever your team already works: the result is plain text, so a shared document, a wiki or a workspace tool all do the job. What matters more is the owner, the version and the review date.
Can I adapt a template I already have?
Yes. Choose “Adapt a template” under “What do you need?”, paste it into the context and pick “Previous template” under “Material you will attach”. The AI diagnoses what fails, keeps what works and gives you the new version with a table to compare both.
What happens to the data I type?
The generator doesn’t use a language model: it combines your answers with Founderz text blocks in your browser, so prompt creation happens on your device. It only sends Founderz your email when you ask to see the result, and usage analytics record the options you choose, never your brief or the generated text.
Can I use it for image generation prompts?
It’s built for text tasks in business teams. For images, use the AI image prompt generator, which sets subject, style, light and ratio.
