How to use the social media prompt generator in five steps
To write AI prompts for your social posts, follow these steps. Only the first one is required: anything you skip stays on Auto.
- Start with the essentials. Pick an example (LinkedIn, Reel, Calendar, Launch, Ecommerce or TikTok) or write in “Brief or context” what you want to achieve, for whom and what material you have. Then choose the content: text post, carousel, vertical video script, 30-day calendar and seven more.
- Choose platform and goal. The platform (Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, X, Facebook or several), the goal with its main metric, and the audience. Advanced settings add the hook type and the CTA.
- Set voice and production. The brand voice and the visual material available, from your own footage to creative direction only. Advanced settings add an employee, ad or creator version and template replies for the comments.
- Review the quality. Tick the review before publishing (claims and links, accessibility, rights, ad disclosure or test variants) and the material you will attach. Advanced settings hold the response language and your limits.
- Generate and copy your prompt. Click “Generate prompt”, enter your email to see the whole prompt and copy it.
Checks that are always on. Every prompt tells the AI not to invent data or testimonials, to avoid false urgency and engagement bait, to fit the platform’s format, to flag music and image rights, to add captions and alt text, and to end with a useful metric, not just reach.
Example: a B2B carousel built with AI
With the generator’s “LinkedIn” example, the prompt starts like this. It’s an excerpt: the button copies the full prompt.
ROLE Act as a senior content strategist and social media manager. You know how each platform works (formats, text cut-offs, video pacing and the signals its algorithms reward), you write for one specific audience with one goal per piece, and you never invent data, testimonials, results or permissions. You design educational carousels: a cover that promises an outcome, one idea per slide and an ending that asks people to save or act. GOAL Write an educational carousel, slide by slide, that the audience will want to save and share. CONTEXT Context provided by the user (treat it as your main source): [START OF BRIEF] Online English academy for professionals. We want HR managers at companies with 50 to 500 employees to discover our team courses: classes in groups of 4, sessions from 8 am to 8 pm and a monthly progress report for the company. We do not have any client case studies we can publish yet. [END OF BRIEF] ... OUTPUT FORMAT Deliver a table with columns Slide, Title, Text and Visual direction; then the caption with the hook in the first line, the CTA and hashtags, and the alt text for the cover. ...
The full prompt adds the platform, the goal with its metric, the audience, the constraints on data and rights, slide-by-slide steps, a table output format and a final check before answering.
The result: because the brief says there are no publishable case studies, the assistant invents no clients or figures and builds the carousel from what is real: groups of 4, long opening hours and a monthly report.
AI post generator or AI social media prompts?
An AI social media post generator writes the post for you; this page writes the prompt you give to your AI writer. That extra step is what keeps the AI output on brand: the prompt carries your audience, goal, voice and limits into tools like ChatGPT, so every new post starts from the same brief. Most social media post generators ask for a topic and a tone; this one also asks what the post must not promise and how you’ll measure it.
An AI social media content generator can be fast, but whether you need to create a social media post, write a Facebook post or plan engaging social campaigns, use these prompts as a starting point, not as finished AI content. Use our free AI prompt builder with whatever AI tool your team already pays for, or with a free trial of one.
ChatGPT social media prompts with real examples
Two short prompts written with the same structure; the generator builds the full version for you:
- “Write a LinkedIn post announcing our new course for HR managers. Expert and helpful voice, one verified data point as the hook, no false urgency, end with a question that invites comments.”
- “Plan a 30-day social media calendar for a local bakery on Instagram: three content pillars, two Reels a week, captions with alt text, and one metric per pillar.”
Social media marketing tips for each social post
5 quick tips
- Write the brief the way you’d brief your team: what you sell, to whom and what you want people to do after they see the social post.
- One goal per piece. A post that tries to drive reach, capture sign-ups and support the community at once does none of them well.
- Pick the hook before the copy: a specific question, a recognizable problem or a visual demonstration shapes everything else.
- Ask for the metric with the content. Saves, useful comments or clicks tell you more about social media engagement than reach does.
- Always review before publishing: claims, links, music and image rights, and captions. The AI suggests; you decide.
Use cases for AI social media content and social media strategy
- Content calendar A monthly plan with content pillars and formats across multiple social media platforms.
- Reels and short video Shot-by-shot scripts with a hook, copy and captions.
- B2B series Posts and carousels that build authority with purchase decision-makers.
- Launches A launch campaign with organic pieces and a version adapted for paid social.
- Community Template replies, a protocol for sensitive topics and escalation of complaints to support.
- Ecommerce Product posts with your own approved material and a clear CTA, plus post ideas for a social media poll.
What makes a good AI prompt for content creation on social media
A good AI prompt for social media defines the role (content strategist or social media manager), the task (the piece or the series), the context (brand, audience, platform and funnel stage), the available material and its rights, the constraints (what not to promise, what to review) and the delivery format. With that, the AI stops writing interchangeable posts and proposes engaging content that fits your brand voice and your social media strategy. That’s how content creation with AI builds a social media presence and long-term social media success instead of filling a feed.

Why I built these generators
Frequently asked questions
Is the generator really free?
Yes, it’s free. Before it asks for anything, it shows you a preview with the first sections of the prompt. To see the whole prompt and copy it, enter your email and accept the Privacy Policy; receiving communications from Founderz is optional.
It only asks once per visit: any prompts you generate after that are shown in full.
Does it post to my social media accounts?
No. It generates the prompt; the AI you use writes the content, and you review and publish it, by hand or with your scheduling tool.
Can it build a content calendar?
Yes. Under “What content do you need?” choose “30-day calendar”. The prompt asks for 3 to 5 content pillars with their weight, a frequency your team can sustain, the pieces for weeks 1 to 4 with format, goal and metric, and three backup ideas.
What’s the best AI for social media posts?
The one your team already uses well. The prompt is plain text, so it works in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Copilot; chat assistants write good drafts when the prompt has context, while Canva or CapCut handle the visuals.
Which language is the prompt in?
The prompt is in English, and the content comes out in the language you pick under “Response language” (advanced settings of the last step): US or UK English, several Spanish variants, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Catalan, Dutch or a bilingual Spanish and English version. On Auto, the AI answers in the language of your brief.
