On February 27, Founderz and the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) signed an agreement to launch a new free course on Responsible AI and prompt engineering for students at the university. The program is designed to give students essential knowledge of artificial intelligence, strengthen their employability, and promote responsible use of the technology.
The signing brought together Anna Cejudo, co-CEO of Founderz; Dr. Melchor Gómez, tenured professor at UAM and an expert in educational technology; Prof. Arturo Cavanna, associate professor at UAM specializing in educational technology and child protection; and Javier Oubiña Barbolla, Vice-Rector for Students and Employability.
During the event, Javier Oubiña highlighted the importance of training students in technology skills, particularly artificial intelligence, to help them enter the job market. Melchor Gómez noted that the course gives students a valuable opportunity to build new skills and improve their professional prospects.
Arturo Cavanna emphasized that the goal is to give students advanced digital tools, not just for their studies but for their careers afterward. Finally, Anna Cejudo added that the program will help students strengthen their employability, since the official Microsoft badge they earn will carry real weight on their resume and LinkedIn profile.
The ERIA Chair and its impact on AI education
The course is part of the Chair on Employability and Responsibility in AI (ERIA), established in 2023 by UAM, Founderz, and Microsoft. Its mission is to advance specialized training in the responsible use of AI and improve employability for professionals in the field.
As artificial intelligence plays a growing role in business, social, and personal decisions, the ERIA Chair aims to set the standard for education on responsible AI. Its goal is to prepare the next generation of professionals to understand the ethical and workplace challenges this technology brings.
One of the ERIA Chair’s core pillars is developing and delivering high-quality AI education programs. These programs are designed to improve the employability of young professionals by giving them the technical skills and key competencies needed to stand out in the job market.
To ensure AI is used responsibly, the ERIA Chair works on building and sharing a solid ethical framework for its use in companies and public institutions. That means developing standards and policies that ensure transparency, fairness, and respect for human rights in how the technology is applied.
Adopting good AI practices is key to reducing algorithmic bias and supporting decisions that are fair and well founded.
A fully free opportunity for UAM students
This free course is a major opportunity for UAM students, giving them the chance to gain essential AI knowledge and strengthen their professional profile. The Microsoft badge they receive upon completing the program is tangible proof of their skills, one that can make a real difference as they enter the job market.
At Founderz, we remain committed to making AI education accessible to everyone, offering training that fits the demands of the market. This initiative, together with the ERIA Chair, is another step toward building an education ecosystem grounded in innovation, ethics, and employability.
